Conversation between Niira Radia and Ganapathy Subramanian(Ganu), A senior Editor at Economic Times, July 9,2009, 10.36.31 p.m
Ganapathy Subramanaim(Ganu) to Niira Radia— Did you see all the crazy things they were doing today. Ask the media they will tell you. They were passing on all the car numbers to everybody.
Radia to Ganu—- Yeah, yeah, we are not bothered.— You know Ganu, we have taken a decision, Mukesh(Ambani), was in town, he has told us, ignore ET(Economic Times, ET Now). If they behave like idiots, let them, just ignore them. Talk to only those who matter. Barring you(Ganu) and Venu and TK, we are not going to, Soma and they had come, they talked a load of nonsense with Manoj Modi, and, quite frankly if they want to behave like a tabloid, let them behave like that.
Ganu to Radia—an—d, an—d , aaah, somebody is passing on information everywhere, I don’t know how, what.
Radia to Ganu— like?
Ganu to Radia— Like who are all meeting Manoj( Warrier or Modi?), and like all those things you know.
Radia to Ganu— That AP CMs, letter I will give you, but not now.
Ganu to Radia— yeah, yeah, no problem, no hurry.
Radia to Ganu— I wont give if its not front page news. —– General you will ensure it na?
Ganu to Radia— yeah, yeah, yeah
Ganu to Radia—- maybe I should talk to you on another number.
Radia to Ganu— Why, you think they are monitoring my number?
Ganu to Radia— I don’t know, might be possible.
Radia to Ganu— You call me on my Indicom number, I will give you a missed call.
Ganu to Radia— OK, but you know once the hearing(in Supreme court on Gas issue), everything will be —
Radia to Ganu— Ok, but Ganu you have to be briefed on it. You haven’t been briefed about us. Let’s make some time tomorrow.

Recording of Conversation between Nira Radia (NR) and Somebody Called Ganu (GN)
Ring Ring
GN : Hi
NR : Hi Ganu, you called, sorry .
GN : Yeah, yeah, Sorry to disturb you on a Saturday. Just wanted to tell you about this data com and what not.. see there is some continuous rumour about this Venugopal dude buying out these guys
GN : and looking for some foreign partner with the consolidated stake
NR :Buying out Nahata, right?
GN : Nahata, yeah, I think he is telling people that “I (he) have, you know, agreed with Nahata on buying him out, and now I am going to look for an overseas partner and do you a major collaboration blah blah blah
NR : Right
GN : Because you know I think nobody believes that he can himself invest and do a, you know, a big time launch or anything, but he is telling everybody that “I am going to get a partner”
NR : Yeah, but no foreign collaborator is coming on the table with him, na
GN : Yeah, yeah, so far nothing, but this is what he is telling people again and again. I am not even sure that the Nahata thing is a done deal or still, whatever hanging. but this is what he is telling people
NR : I would imagine, Ganu that he, Nahata still hasn’t exited, that is something I know from about a week or ten days ago
GN :hm, hm, hm
GN : (unclear) had himself told me that “this guy keeps giving me stories but doesnt do anything”
NR : Haan, voi, voi, these people have no credibility na, nobody believes them
GN : right, right…
NR : so, that’s why he has started this new story that “its not just me, some foreign partner is going to come on board and all that”
GN : Right
NR : Accha, yesterday, this story, when this undersea cable business was being denied, these Bharti guys were very funny, you know, they were saying, we dont connect, they were not denying it outright, I dont know why
GN : No, no, Ganu, the reason is,
NR : The stories – they have a standard statement which is that “we dont comment on market speculation, we dont confirm or deny”
GN : Han, han, han
NR : But I spoke to them, and seriously, because we had already denied it, there was no need, for them to say anything else.
GN : Ok, fine
NR : I had a big hoo-ha with Rahul Joshi and your people in…Javed and Bodhi (?)
GN : haan haan
NR : because they had come to me with a story last week, um…on day before.
GN : Haan
NR : I told them you please carry it five coloumn, front page, headline, largest font you can get, and I’ll leave it to the Tatas to decide what they want to do with you guys
GN : Haan
NR : Because the story is not true
GN :Haan, haan
NR : SEBi has taken, I mean CNBC has taken it up, we have sent it to SEBI
GN : Yeah, yeah
NR : Siddharth and I, we have filed a complaint against CNBC with SEBI
GN : Haan, you know, so stupid, you know, despite the outright denial, they kept on running it till late in the evening
NR : yeah, yeah, yeah, they think that you are screwing their source, the intent of the articel was to cause destruction in the company
GN : and if Bharti had also said, you know, outright denied it, saying you know. that there was nothing like it, then you know, it would have been much more difficult for anybody to speculate. These guys, they were trying to tell people – “nahi nahi nahi, yeh to Bharti ne hi story leak kiya hai, tabhi to woh deny nahi kar raha hai” and all that. But of course it was very clear that its all total humbug.
NR : Yeah, its all utter nonsense Ganu. Ganu what is your status on Javed, he is with ADAG?
GN : Yeah, yeah, yeah, he is totally on board with them. But that Mumbai guy, that Jhunjhunwala
NR : Haan
GN :So, he went twice to Mumbai to meet him, and this Tony also, it seems, is not going, or whatever, or his going is delayed, or whatever
NR : No he is not going. They spread a rumour
GN Haan
NR : They tried to plant Venkatesh back with us.
GN :Haan
NR : Because Venkatesh said “I have left them and I want to come back to you”
GN : Aa Haan
NR : And tried to spill all the beans, Tony is going, all that, the fight with Jhunjhunwala, thinking that we’ll take him back, but we refused to take him back, then he was at Ad Factor for three months, and now he is going back to them
GN : He is going to Ad Factor
NR : No, He had gone to Ad Factor for three months, now, because he cant go back to them straight-away, na
GN : Ah, oh, ok, ok, ok, aah, dirty tricks department,
NR : Yeah, yeah
GN : Good that you, decided, you know not to…
NR : I would never take him back now
GN : yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so what do you think, this Tony is going, or not going, what is the truth
NR : I think this is just rumours, they just do this to distract people, I dont think Tony will go anywhere
GN : Because you kow why, because he is actively, you know every second or third day, he is sitting with Javed for coffee or lunch or whatever, you know, these two three people, this Arun Kumar, yeh, voh, they keep planting something or the other
NR : yeah, yeah
GN : Most of the time it turns out to be some fraud or speculation only,
NR : Correct, correct, no, no, let it be, just let it be
GN : and you know first they will pick on, this thing, yer Tata-Tele, then they will say something about unitech, third day they will spreadsomething about somebody else, this is how they are operating
NR : hmm, hmm, hmm
GN : And I think yesterday, was also this fellows wedding, no, this Mittal’s daughter’s wedding… on the day of the wedding, they thought probably that Bharti would not be very active into getting into denying this story, maybe, because Mittal would have been busy with his own function and whatever,
NR : Correct, correct, correct
GN : So thats what. They thought, you know, it would be left to Manoj Kohli, Manoj Kohli it ni jaldi kuch karega nahi, standard is statement, is type ka kuch karte rahenge, tab tak rumour speculate karte raho.
NR : Correct, correct, correct
GN : Stupid guys, anyway
NR : Yeah, yeah, never mind, (laughs)
GN :We should be on air any time, next week onwards, we are testing and all that, so that we are there by budget.
NR : Great, great, great.
GN : so, that is first week of july,
NR : ok
GN : hm, in the meanwhile I will give you a call on Monday or send you message
NR : lets meet, lets meet Tuesday, yeah?
GN : Tuesday?
NR : Yeah
GN : Ok, fine, cool
NR : Great

Published November 26, 2010 Ganu , pls crosscheck 2 CommentsLooking for volunteers to transcribe all Radia tapes
Published November 26, 2010 announcements 25 CommentsAs you know, Open and Outlook magazines have put out legally taped telephone conversations of several people with lobbyist Niira Radia. Open put out only a few audios, and transcribed them all, where as Outlook put out a somewhat different set. However, Outlook was kind enough to put out all the audios they had on their website. There’s a lot of muck in there, and it’s not just about Barkha Dutt and Vir Sanghvi, it’s not just about the 2G scam. It’s very crucial that we transcribe ALL these tapes so that the words are on Google, se we can access the content of all tapes more easily. The media should have done this by now but the media is silent to save the skin of their own. So we need to become the media, you and I. Just 15 minutes of your time needed. To volunteer, just leave a comment below with your email address.
Thanks!
